The elephant Kenya travels to a sanctuary in Brazil: the famous actor accompanying her

The African elephant Kenya has been living in Ecoparque Mendoza for years. Now, she is getting ready to leave behind her life in captivity and start a new stage at the Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.

During the journey of more than 3600 kilometers, she will be accompanied by the actor, musician, and activist Nicolás Pauls.

Both of them star in the documentary Ele, a story of liberation, produced by a film company from Barcelona.

The elephant Kenya leaves Ecoparque Mendoza: the documentary and the journey with Nicolás Pauls

The story of this unique bond between Pauls and Kenya is portrayed in Ele, a documentary driven by the production company Ecosysmedia, which follows their encounters at Ecoparque and the journey towards the elephant’s freedom.

During the feature film, expected to be released in July, scenes of their moments of connection can be seen. This includes the elephant’s reactions to the serenades the actor sang to her in her enclosure, and amazing facts about neuroscience.

Furthermore, reflections on the connection with nature, freedom, and spiritual life are depicted.

The project also includes EleCast, a six-episode podcast that explores the bond between humans and elephants from different perspectives: political, scientific, cultural, and emotional.

The last episode was recorded live in Buenos Aires on March 7, with the participation of activists, journalists, and personalities from the cultural world.

Kenya’s relocation

Like Pupy, the last elephant from the former zoo in Buenos Aires, Kenya will live in a sanctuary in Brazil.

The relocation is possible thanks to the joint work of the Government of Mendoza, Ecoparque, Franz Weber Foundation, and the Elephant Sanctuary Brazil. This moment will mark the conclusion of the documentary and the beginning of a new stage for Kenya.

During the journey, Nicolás Pauls will do live broadcasts from the Proyecto ELE Instagram account, and on the website proyectoELE.org, you can leave your email to receive notifications about the start of these broadcasts.
