The province of Córdoba continues to bet on energy transformation with a sustainable and decentralized approach. In General Roca, a pioneering community solar park managed by the local Electricity Cooperative was inaugurated.
This system allows the cooperative to become a generating user, supplying the equivalent consumption of 200 households through clean and renewable sources.
With 684 photovoltaic panels generating 380 kWp, the park injects 625 MWh annually into the electric grid, reducing the dependence on conventional sources and promoting local autonomy.
The initiative is part of the regulations for “distributed generation by the distributor,” which enables cooperatives and distributors to produce renewable energy for their members through community schemes.

More access, less impact: clean energy for all
This model expands opportunities for more people to participate in clean energy generation without the need to install panels on their homes.
The General Roca project strengthens the electric grid, reduces operating costs, and promotes energy equity, allowing rural communities to recover productive capacity.
Furthermore, it fosters territorial roots by enabling energy to be produced and used in the same place, with positive impacts both economically and environmentally.
This new park joins others already installed in locations such as Morteros, Oncativo, Arroyo Cabral, and La Laguna, positioning Córdoba as a national leader in distributed generation.
Benefits of community solar parks
Solar parks like the one in General Roca offer multiple environmental and social advantages. By using solar energy, the emission of hundreds of tons of CO₂ per year is avoided, mitigating climate change.
These systems also diversify the energy matrix, increasing resilience against energy crises or supply cuts.
Community participation strengthens citizen commitment to sustainability, promotes inclusion, and democratizes access to clean technology without depending on large individual investments.
Córdoba advances in the creation of a community solar park.
An energy model with local roots
The promotion of these initiatives is part of a State policy that combines sustainability, innovation, and social justice.
The Government of Córdoba works with cooperatives and municipalities to decentralize energy production, generate local employment, and reduce the ecological footprint.
With high solar potential and an efficient interconnected electric grid, the province leverages its natural advantages to lead a paradigm shift in energy generation.
The solar park in General Roca not only represents a source of renewable energy, but also a firm step towards a fairer, more resilient, and environmentally respectful Córdoba.
