Parchment takes a green leap with its first solar park, setting an energy and environmental milestone.

With a historic investment, Pergamino is moving towards a cleaner energy model with the construction of the largest solar park in the province. The signing of the agreement to build the municipality’s first Solar Park marks a change in the region’s electrical grid. This project, with the capacity to generate 10 megawatts, will supply about 12,000 homes.

The project will be carried out thanks to a strategic partnership between the Electric Cooperative and a private company, with municipal support. This collaboration will strengthen the local grid and meet demand during critical times, such as summer heatwaves.

The site designated for the park covers 21 hectares, half of which will be used in the initial phase. It is expected that the plant will start operating within a year, with a positive impact on the electrical supply and the local industry.

In addition to energy, the first Solar Park project will create direct and indirect jobs. During its construction and operation, it will require local labor and technical services, bringing dynamism to the economy of Pergamino.

A solar park for renewable energy and sustainable development

The project not only reinforces the electrical infrastructure: it represents a commitment to sustainability. The solar park will be a clean source that will reduce polluting emissions, strengthening the transition to a more responsible energy model.

Pergamino has shown leadership in this path. Since 2018, it has adhered to the National Renewable Energy Law, promoting distributed generation through solar panels in homes and businesses. The city has also promoted local ordinances and pushed for a provincial law to enable this practice on a larger scale.

With the regulation of Provincial Law 15,325, the door has finally opened for residents to become producers of their own energy. This will reduce costs, receive tax incentives, and protect the environment at the same time.

Pergamino is thus establishing itself as a pioneer municipality in clean energy. Its new solar park is not just an infrastructure project, but a symbol of ecological transformation with lasting impact.

Renewable energy: a vital boost for small towns

The implementation of renewable energies in small towns brings direct and immediate benefits. These sources, such as solar or wind power, allow reducing dependence on extensive and costly electric grids, improving service stability and reducing power outages.

Moreover, they promote local economic development. The installation and maintenance of equipment create employment opportunities, while the possibility of producing energy on a small scale opens up opportunities for cooperatives and community enterprises.

In the long term, these technologies promote energy self-sufficiency and reduce carbon footprint. This makes towns leaders in sustainability, with a better quality of life and a cleaner environment for future generations.
