Solar panels on the rise in La Pampa: savings and clean energy

Solar energy is gaining ground in La Pampa with the rise of solar panels, both in homes and businesses, driven by a greater environmental awareness, technological advancements, and access to affordable credits. Nicolás Dagostino, owner of the company Green Renovable and a sector leader, explained on INFOPICO RADIO 99.9 that the province is experiencing a “real energy transition,” with sustained growth in the installation of photovoltaic systems.

“Today, the solar system pays for itself with savings on the electricity bill,” summarized Dagostino. According to his data, a system can reduce up to 40% of monthly electricity consumption, and thanks to the support of Banco de La Pampa, more and more families and SMEs are accessing this technology.

The systems consist of solar panels installed on rooftops, connected to an inverter that converts solar energy into usable electricity. “The solar energy is consumed first; if there’s excess, it is injected into the grid and the distributor pays you for it,” he explained. In the case of General Pico, that company is CORPICO.

The initial investment ranges between 4 and 5 million pesos, with an estimated useful life of 30 years. The payback period can be achieved in four to five years, depending on the consumption level and the amount of energy injected into the grid.

Credits and Comprehensive Support

One of the key factors in the growth of solar energy in La Pampa is the provincial credit program. Through Banco de La Pampa, users can finance up to 80% of the total cost, with a grace period of 12 months and installments over 10 or 15 years. “This access is what made the difference. It is a very different model from other provinces,” stated Dagostino.

From Green Renovable, they also support the user throughout the process: from consumption analysis, system design, credit management, to registration as an energy generator with the regulatory body. “We assist the customer from the first step until they see on their phone how much they are saving,” he emphasized.

Solar Panels, Clean Energy, and a Cultural Shift

In addition to economic savings, Dagostino focused on the environmental impact and the need for greater awareness of efficient energy use. “Energy efficiency is part of the change. That’s why I’m also training as an energy auditor,” he commented.

Small daily actions — like covering a pot while cooking or not heating more water than necessary — can make a significant difference in energy consumption. “In Europe, there is already a culture of efficiency that we are still building here. But we are on the path to that,” he concluded.

The advancement of solar energy in La Pampa is not just a technological trend: it is also a sign that sustainability and energy self-sufficiency can be within everyone’s reach.

A new solar park was inaugurated in Mendoza and Genneia announced an investment of USD 150 million

With an investment of 90 million dollars, the company specialized in sustainable energy solutions, Genneia, inaugurated the Malargüe I Solar Park, marking its first photovoltaic development in the province of Mendoza and the fourth nationwide.

Additionally, the company announced an ambitious additional project with an investment of 150 million dollars.

The Malargüe I Park, with an installed capacity of 90 MW, is part of the transformation process of the energy sector in Mendoza, promoting sustainable supply to large industrial consumers and strengthening the Renewable Energy Term Market (Mater), as stated by the company in a press release.
