After an unusually warm Tuesday afternoon that exceeded 23 °C, the AMBA experienced a drastic change in air due to the passage of a cold front. These conditions are expected to persist at least until the end of next week with moderate intensity and values usually below normal for May.
Rest of the workweek: stable and dry weather
The temperature drop this morning brought the thermometer to 7.7 °C in Capital Federal and a low of 3.0 °C in Campo de Mayo.
-
Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies with southerly winds. The high will not exceed 17 °C.
-
Thursday: Very little change in conditions. Light southerly winds will continue with temperatures just 1 or 2 °C above today’s.
-
Friday: It will start with a very cold morning (less than 8 °C). By the afternoon, the north wind will raise the temperature to 20 °C, although cloudiness will increase due to the advance of a new frontal system.
Weekend forecast: unstable Saturday
Saturday presents itself as the exception to the dry pattern of the week:
-
Saturday: A new cold front will cross the region by midday. There is a medium to low probability of isolated showers with accumulations not exceeding 5 mm. By night, southerly winds will become more intense and gusty.
-
Sunday: The temperature drop will deepen. Lows of 7 °C and highs of 15 °C are expected in the city, with variable cloudiness.
Trend for next week
The upcoming workweek will be marked by an absolute predominance of southerly winds. This will maintain the cold environment during the mornings and just cool in the afternoons, consolidating a marked absence of precipitation in Buenos Aires, reported the SMN.
