The efforts to combat the fires in El Bolsón continue. In this regard, the municipality reported that it has added resources in this direction, including provincial and national teams in the area.
On the other hand, in the last hours, the governor of Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, met with national authorities. What was their response and how the weather will continue in the most affected areas.
Resources to combat fires in El Bolsón
The Municipal Emergency Committee (COEM), led by Mayor Bruno Pogliano, closely monitors the situation and coordinates fire response actions.

The major fire activity remains at higher altitudes, particularly in the Dedo Gordo area. Three planes and two helicopters are working there, with about 200 people on the ground. They estimate that the affected area reaches 3000 hectares.
A temporary and preventive closure of tourist attractions Costa del Río Azul (up to Parallel 42°), Bosque Tallado, and Cerro Piltriquitrón has been ordered.
As part of the new strategy, the on-site health device has been reinforced with the incorporation of SIARME, which has an ambulance with specialized personnel and high-complexity equipment to handle any emergency.
The Pampa de Mallín Ahogado Health Center is operational, while the Ministry of Social Development has added its support to assistance tasks.
In terms of infrastructure, there will be a preventive power cut between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the neighborhoods of Loma del Medio, Cerro Amigo, and Villa Turismo. This is to reduce risks while containment work continues.
It was also noted that CET 23 in Mallín Ahogado is the donation distribution center, open from 8 AM to 8 PM every day. The Municipal Sports Center no longer serves as the operations center for these activities.
Deployed resources for fire fighting
Authorities recalled the resources being used:
- SPLIF: 54 fighters with tools, pumping equipment, and 12 vehicles, plus all central staff including logistics, warehouse, workshop, communications, and technical personnel dedicated to the emergency.
- National Fire Management Service: 37 fighters with hand tools and 3 helicopters from the National Fire Management Service, as well as specific fire forecast assistance.
- Water Bomber Plane from Santiago del Estero managed by Governor Alberto Weretilneck.
- National Meteorological Service (NMS)
- El Bolsón Firefighters coordinate with Volunteer Firefighters from the Region and different parts of the province.
- Provincial Civil Protection: 8 agents and 3 vehicles
- Río Negro Police Firefighters: 14 fighters with 1 URO and 1 Scam

Weather forecast for El Bolsón
The forecast for this Friday predicts a minimum temperature of 8°C and a maximum of 25°C, with a minimum humidity of 25%. Winds are expected to be variable between 5 and 15 km/h, increasing around noon with gusts of 35/45 km/h.
It is expected that the wind will decrease on Saturday and intensify again on Sunday with the arrival of a cold front, which could bring precipitation and a subsequent temperature drop.
