In an emotional **rescue operation**, Drako, a dog that had been left abandoned in a house in Liniers, was rescued and brought to safety.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office intervened with the Specialized Environmental Matters Fiscal Unit, **UFEMA**, led by Prosecutor **Carlos Rolero**, who was in charge of the raid and **rescue operation**.

The house has been **unoccupied for five months** and the owner of the property left the house permanently over a month ago and **abandoned 3 dogs**, of which, two of them, the mother and a brother, **died on the terrace** due to the cold, the heat, and Drako was left **inside the house**.

Thanks to the neighbors who heard a dog **crying for days** from the sidewalk, that’s when they decided to lift the blinds, open the windows, and saw him in a **very poor health condition**.

**Drako** survived thanks to the **commitment of the neighbors** who, in addition to making the corresponding reports, took turns to keep him **company**, give him water, and food.

It goes without saying that the dog lived among the dirt of the house and the dog’s feces that he also ate.

As the days went by, **Drako** improved his mood and gained strength by eating and drinking water again.

It is worth mentioning that the neighbors did everything possible to **save his life**.

**Nora Portela**, who is the head of the NGO “Aliento de Vida Animal“, and who has **Graciela Borges** as its godmother, also approached the place.

“There was a **nauseating smell** in the place and the animal **lived on urine and fecal matter** and commented that he was very anxious, he is a young dog that is not neutered and needs to be dewormed,” Portela told **Noticias Ambientales**.

“Drako’s story will be remembered for the impact of community solidarity.”

The call for help

It all started when concerned neighbors noticed that the dog had been left alone in an **unoccupied property**. Without access to food or water, Drako was **visibly malnourished and weak**. The residents of the area did not hesitate to act and alerted the authorities and several **animal rescue organizations**.
