The initiative, open until August 18, seeks to technically and economically support the development of Conservation, Management, and/or Management and Conservation Plans for Native Forests, a mandatory tool to organize the sustainable use of these environments and avoid practices that compromise their regeneration.
The Ministry of Environment of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by Minister Daniela Vilar, launched a new call aimed at producers and landowners with the presence of native forest, with the objective of financing the development of plans that allow them to regularize their situation and move towards a sustainable management of these environments.
The measure is framed within National Law No. 26.331 and Provincial Law No. 14.888, which establish the obligation to have a technical plan approved by the environmental authority before carrying out any intervention or utilization in areas categorized within the Territorial Planning of Native Forests.
This is the third call launched by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Environment, with the aim of facilitating the development of Conservation, Management and/or Management and Conservation Plans for Native Forests in different districts of the Province. In this way, it is promoted that landowners with native forest who meet the terms and conditions of the call can access technical and economic support.
The environmental department highlighted that the native forest is a key natural asset in a region where water stress, soil erosion, and adverse climatic conditions are part of the productive reality. The forest plays a fundamental role: it protects the soil, conserves moisture, and allows for sustained activity over time.
Therefore, any intervention in native forest must have a plan developed by a qualified professional and approved by the Ministry of Environment. From that approval, the process of obtaining the corresponding authorization according to the type of activity to be developed can begin. Any intervention, including clearing, without the endorsement of the environmental authority may be considered an infraction and, therefore, subject to sanction.
In this context, the Ministry provides tools, guides, and technical assistance to facilitate the submission of plans and support producers and landholders during the process. The call will be available until August 18, 2026.
