The Independence Day is celebrated in the City of Buenos Aires with a holiday marked by a winter climate this July 9th. The day begins with high humidity and morning fog, creating a typical winter atmosphere. No significant rainfall is expected in the central region, according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
Winter climate in Buenos Aires for July 9th
In the Federal Capital, temperatures will range between 6 and 13 degrees. The day will see an increase in cloudiness, maintaining a relative humidity above 80%. These conditions are influenced by a polar air mass dominating the central region, with light winds from the east.
In Greater Buenos Aires, especially in suburban areas, more pronounced thermal variations are expected. The northern and western zones could have minimums of 4 degrees, accompanied by frost in rural areas due to calm winds.
The southern suburbs, including districts like Almirante Brown and Quilmes, will see maximums not exceeding 12 degrees. Southeast gusts will increase the sensation of humid cold, under a cloudy sky during the patriotic celebrations.
The chance of rain remains below 10%, ensuring a dry and cold holiday. These conditions make the day ideal for indoor or nearby activities.
Weather updates in the rest of the country
The Early Warning System (SAT) reports no extreme alerts in the central provinces, where high pressure translates into stability and low temperatures in Buenos Aires, La Pampa, and Córdoba.
In Patagonia, regions like Chubut and Santa Cruz anticipate the arrival of a cold front, causing isolated snowfalls in mountainous areas and strong westerly winds that could complicate navigation.
On the other hand, the Argentine north, in provinces like Formosa and Misiones, will experience a milder climate, with maximums reaching 22 degrees, contrasting with the cold of the central region.
Extended forecast for the weekend
The National Meteorological Service forecasts that the cold weather will persist until the weekend. Friday will continue with less cloudiness and a change of winds towards the north, allowing a slight increase in maximum temperatures.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to have more sun in the metropolitan area, with temperatures between 7 and 15 degrees. No unstable fronts are anticipated, ensuring a stable winter weekend.
As the workweek begins, a change in wind direction to the south is expected, which could lead to a new drop in temperatures and reinforce the polar cold in the Pampas plain.
