The stress and anxiety suffered by pets due to loud and unexpected noises —such as fireworks, storms, or urban vibrations— now finds a functional, aesthetic, and therapeutic response in the design of Pet Shell, a portable acoustic shelter for the home that promises to reduce by half the noise perceived by dogs or other sensitive animals.
The structure, which mimics the cochlear shape of the inner ear, is made of high-quality wood, coated in hemp wool, and padded inside with orthopedic memory foam.
The result: a warm, accessible, and ergonomic shelter where the animal can isolate or rest comfortably when needed.
Acoustic design designed for animal calmness
According to its creators, Pet Shell reduces ambient noise by 50% within the dogs’ auditory range, making it a safe environment against stimuli that can trigger nervousness, sound phobia, and even escape behaviors.
The possibility of having a shelter inside the house and in a controlled environment reduces the risks associated with those instinctive reactions.
One of its curved walls is movable, allowing humans easy access to the interior, while the washable fabrics ensure regular cleaning without complications.
A piece of furniture that integrates into the home
Pet Shell is designed not only as a functional kennel but also as a versatile decorative object. Its exterior shape allows it to be used as a side table in a living room or bedroom, harmoniously integrating into the home’s aesthetics.
Two sizes have been developed to fit different pets:
- Small model: 90 cm wide × 50 cm high, with a 15 cm entrance.
- Large model: 120 cm wide × 80 cm high, with a 25 cm access.
Prices range between 2,000 and 2,600 euros, depending on the size and selected materials.
Next step: Kickstarter campaign
The brand announced that the product will soon be launched through Kickstarter, a platform where interested parties can support the initial development and access units before they arrive on the general market.
Pet Shell proposes a new way of thinking about pet furniture, integrating acoustics, comfort, and sustainability. In times when the emotional care of domestic animals is becoming increasingly relevant, this calm capsule within the home offers a solution that connects design and empathy.
