Stunning images of the Strawberry Moon in June: captures from New York to California in the Northern Hemisphere

The fascinating Strawberry Moon of June has amazed sky enthusiasts in the northern hemisphere with its dazzling appearance. This astronomical phenomenon provided a unique opportunity to capture impressive images as it coincided with the lowest position in its trajectory of the year, facilitating alignment with famous monuments.

Amazing Images of the Strawberry Moon in June

During this lunar phase, the full moon was positioned opposite the Sun. In the recent summer solstice, when the Sun reached its zenith, the Strawberry Moon took the opposite path, appearing near the horizon.

In Manhattan, the full moon emerged alongside the iconic Empire State Building, a scene captured by photographer Gary Hershorn. This standout image shows how the natural satellite perfectly integrates with the urban landscape of New York.

From another angle, the Statue of Liberty seemed to hold the Strawberry Moon over the Hudson River, in an equally striking photographic composition. This image highlights the unique interaction between nature and human creations.

The beauty of the phenomenon was not limited to the United States. In California, photographer Tayfun Coskun depicted how the moon peeked over the San Francisco Bay, while in Meishan, China, the Strawberry Moon rose among the clouds, providing a spectacular view.

In Hungary, Robert Nemeti captured a melancholic image of the moon over a church in Abaújvár, a strategic point near the Slovakian border.

Additionally, the majestic Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion, Greece, was the perfect setting for photographer Ayhan Mahmet, while in Samsun, Turkey, Veysel Altun recorded the full moon over the seafront.

The next full moon, known as the Buck Moon, will occur on July 29. This name comes from Native American cultures, marking the time when male deer grow new antlers.
