Buenos Aires Province and General Rodríguez agree to strengthen sustainable environmental policies

The Ministry of Environment of the province of Buenos Aires, led by Minister Daniela Vilar, established a cooperation agreement with the municipality of General Rodríguez to implement public policies focused on sustainable development and environmental management of the district.

After a meeting with Mayor Mauro García, strategic axes were defined to adapt the actions to territorial needs.

Main axes of the agreement

The collaboration between both administrations includes various initiatives with a direct impact on the community:

  • Protection of natural spaces: A specific investment will be made to improve the Municipal Natural Reserve, aiming to promote the conservation of biodiversity and facilitate residents’ access to green spaces.

  • Sustainable tourism: Implementation of the program “Nature on Bike”, a proposal aimed at strengthening the recreational and healthy connection of the inhabitants with their natural environment.

  • Environmental restoration: Reforestation days will be carried out using native species, a key measure for adaptation to climate change and improving the urban landscape.

  • Food sovereignty: Development of joint actions to promote the production and access to healthy food on a local scale.

With this type of agreement, the provincial Ministry of Environment continues to consolidate its coordinated work with the municipalities, promoting a decentralized environmental management that responds to the particular challenges of each Buenos Aires territory.
