Slow fashion is gaining ground in Latin America: brands and SMEs join forces for transparency in the textile sector.

In order to accelerate the ethical and environmental transformation of the textile sector in Latin America, the organizations Fundamentally, Green Story, and Espera Ventures announced the closing of the call to join the First Circle of Leadership for Textile Transparency under the Fundamentally Green Metrics Latam program.

The initiative aims for slow fashion to stop being an exception and become the new standard.

## Call open to brands and SMEs committed to changing the textile sector
The first stage ends on August 15 and offers subsidized access to sustainability tools.

The proposal is aimed at brands and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that, although not 100% sustainable, are determined to move towards responsible and ethical practices.

To facilitate this process, the program subsidizes more than 70% of the cost, allowing more stakeholders to access verified environmental data, previously reserved for large companies.

## Technology for traceability and international compliance
For one year, participating brands will have access to the Green Story platform, which will allow them to:
– **Trace their supply chains**
– **Perform unlimited Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)**
– **Generate digital product passports (DPP)**, essential for complying with European regulations
– **Connect their environmental data via API**, gaining global visibility

These tools position brands for sustainable growth and international expansion, aligned with global market demands.

## Diana Hernández: a transformative vision from Mexico
In Mexico, the initiative is led by Diana Hernández, a documentary photographer and founder of Fundamentally, who became aware of the environmental impact of climate change after years of fieldwork.

Her commitment led her to study a sustainability master’s degree, where she consolidated her vision of fashion that communicates, connects, and transforms.

“Fundamentally is my way of promoting sustainability in a sector with a huge environmental impact, using fashion as a tool for change,” says Hernández.

Her goal is to build an inclusive and ethical ecosystem, promoting the circular economy, conscious consumption, and the visibility of emerging brands.

## A strategic alliance to redefine fashion consumption
The Fundamentally Green Metrics Latam program is the result of a collaboration between:
– Diana Hernández, Fundamentally
– Akhil Sivanandan, CEO of Green Story
– Pravin Rodrigues, Espera Capital
– A multidisciplinary team of experts and collaborators

Together, they seek not only to offer technological solutions but also to build a regional community of brands that grow with transparency, impact, and purpose.

## Road to Climate Action Week: sustainable fashion as a protagonist
The program is expected to have a prominent place in the upcoming Climate Action Week, where innovations to redefine fashion consumption in Latin America will be presented.

The goal: to show that sustainability can be a competitive advantage, and that environmental transparency is key to the future of the textile sector.
