Misiones promotes ecotourism with a new opening in nature. They inaugurated in Colonia Alberdi an observatory of birds, a space dedicated to biodiversity conservation and environmental education.
This was carried out within the framework of the “Enhancement of the Green Path” project. It is an initiative that seeks to promote nature tourism as an engine for local development.

The new Bird Observatory in Colonia Alberdi is located in a privileged natural environment, home to numerous species of native birds. The structure was built with sustainable materials and is designed to harmoniously integrate with the environment.
From there, visitors can observe birds without altering the habitat, a key practice for the conservation of wildlife.

This project was promoted by the technical team of the municipality of Alberdi and supported by the Ministry of Tourism of Misiones.
Birdwatching, an opportunity for the local economy
Birdwatching, also known as birdwatching tourism, is a growing activity that attracts national and international tourists interested in the natural richness of the region.
Misiones, due to its location in the Green Corridor, has one of the largest concentrations of biodiversity in the country. This makes it an ideal destination for this type of sustainable tourism.
The Mayor of Colonia Alberdi, Juan González, highlighted the importance of the observatory as part of a broader strategy to enhance natural resources.
“We want the community to be involved in protecting the environment and for this type of infrastructure to also serve as an educational space for schools and visitors,” he said.
Environmental education and conservation
In addition to birdwatching, the new observatory will be a meeting point for environmental education activities, workshops, and talks on the importance of biodiversity and the protection of local ecosystems.

Its creation responds to the need to strengthen the bond between rural communities and nature, promoting respect for wildlife and responsible use of natural resources.
The initiative is part of a sustainable development approach that seeks to diversify the economy of small towns like Colonia Alberdi, integrating environmental conservation with job creation through nature tourism.
With this proposal, Misiones reaffirms its commitment to the environment and consolidates itself as a reference in responsible tourism in northern Argentina.
