The Patagonia Park has added a new accommodation option at the La Señalada campground. These are Patagonian wooden yurts, designed for those who wish to sleep in the steppe without the need to camp.
These shelters offer an intermediate alternative between tent and inn. Additionally, they are built on parapets that protect from the wind, without losing direct contact with the open landscape.
They feature beds, warm clothing, a table, and a solid structure. Therefore, they allow for a comfortable rest while maintaining an experience close to nature.
The location is strategic, as La Señalada serves as the core of the Portal Cañadón Pinturas. From there, trails begin, and access is available to environmental interpretation spaces.

Trails, native fauna, and direct connection with the territory
A few meters away are the Interpretation Center and the Planetarium. From that same point, routes lead to Cañadón Pinturas and Bajada de los Toldos, connecting with the area of the Cueva de las Manos.
Similarly, the Vertientes trail can be combined with the Guanaca trail. From the Cerro Amarillo, the confluence of Cañadón Caracoles with Cañadón Pinturas can be observed, in a landscape dominated by plateaus and canyons. For experienced hikers, the Huella de Gradin offers a 12-kilometer route. In this way, the network allows exploration of different environments without the need to use a vehicle.
The area is also ideal for wildlife watching. Guanacos, choiques, and condors are part of the experience, while in specific sectors, the orange chinchillón, an endemic species, can be observed.
Additionally, outings with local guides explore springs and wetlands under restoration. Thus, the visitor understands how ecological recovery favors the return of native fauna.

Community bonfire and new connectivity in public transport
In La Señalada, the experience continues beyond the hikes. The yurts invite sharing the community bonfire and cooking outdoors under the Patagonian sky. This space fosters encounters between travelers, families, and groups of friends. Therefore, the pace of the journey slows down and adapts to the times of the steppe.
The recommendation is to stay at least two nights. This way, you can combine trails, observation activities, and moments of rest without haste.
Regarding access, the company Chaltén Travel has added a stop at the entrance of the Portal Cañadón Pinturas. This allows arrival by bus from different points in the region.
From there, the park team coordinates internal transfers to La Señalada. Thus, a more sustainable arrival is facilitated, reducing the use of private vehicles and promoting nature tourism with less environmental impact.
