The fabric scraps used to make the jerseys of different categories of the Argentinian National Football Team, along with other textile waste, will be used to manufacture recycled products with a social and solidarity goal.

This project is the result of an agreement between the cooperative Creando Conciencia, the textile company TEXCOM, and the Impulso y Encuentro Foundation.

An Alliance for Environmental Care and Social Reintegration

Creando Conciencia, a cooperative formed by former waste pickers, together with TEXCOM, a company with over 75 years of experience in the Argentinian textile industry, and the Impulso y Encuentro Foundation, which has been supporting the most vulnerable sectors of society since 2019, have joined forces to comply with the recycling regulations of Buenos Aires.

TEXCOM will provide its cutting scraps and other materials to Creando Conciencia, which will ensure traceability and final disposal at its Benavídez Production Center.

Recycled products made with national team jersey fabrics

After the selection and recycling process at the plant, the Foundation will collect the materials to make various items that support their social and productive activities, such as bathroom rugs, baskets, and garlands. Additionally, the Impulso y Encuentro Foundation documents and studies the social reality, generating resources for comprehensive development.

On the other hand, TEXCOM, based in Don Torcuato, not only manufactures fabrics for the jerseys of 70% of Argentine football clubs like River Plate, Boca Juniors, Racing Club, and Independiente, but also leads in innovative technical fabrics, such as fireproof fabrics that protect workers in Vaca Muerta.
