The reforestation of a key trail in Córdoba advances to restore the natural environment.

In an initiative focused on environmental restoration and preservation of the mountain ecosystem, progress is being made with the reforestation of the trail to Cerro de la Cruz.

This is one of the main tourist attractions in Córdoba. The activity was led by the municipality of Villa Carlos Paz.

It is part of a comprehensive plan for reforestation with native species, aimed at recovering the original vegetation and promoting sustainable tourism.

The environmental day was coordinated by the Secretariat of Environment, together with the Environmental Directorate, Strategic Execution, and the Youth Department of the local government.

The intervention took place on the slopes and adjacent areas of the traditional trail leading to Cerro de la Cruz, a natural space highly visited by residents and tourists throughout the year.

Reforestation work included the planting of native species of the Córdoba mountain ecosystem, such as molle trees, espinillos, cocos, talas, and carob trees, among others.

These native species play a fundamental role in ecological balance, as they favor soil conservation, regulate microclimate, and provide shelter for the local wildlife.

Environmental restoration and citizen commitment

The municipality emphasized that this action is part of a public policy for recovering degraded environments and promoting sustainable practices.

Furthermore, they highlighted the importance of involving the community, especially young people, in awareness-raising tasks and environmental care.

“Reforestation with native species is key to preserving biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change,” stated the Environmental Department. They also emphasized that these actions help strengthen the bond between citizens and natural spaces, promoting a culture of respect and appreciation for environmental heritage.

A greener and more sustainable trail

The trail to Cerro de la Cruz is one of the most emblematic circuits in Villa Carlos Paz, chosen by both athletes and nature enthusiasts.

Thanks to this initiative, the route will not only gain in scenic charm but also reinforce its value as an example of ecotourism and responsible environmental management.
