The last Wednesday of April commemorates World Day against Noise. It is a day dedicated to reflecting on the impact on health and the environment.
In 2025, the date falls on April 30th, and it is a key opportunity to promote respect for the sound environment and auditory well-being. Why is it so important?
World Noise Day: why is it commemorated today
In 1996, the Hearing and Communication Center (HCC) established the International Noise Awareness Day to alert and raise awareness among the population about the risks it poses for hearing disorders and its impact on health.
Noise pollution
This day aims to draw attention and encourage public and private institutions to inform citizens about the dangers of long-term noise exposure.
As well as encouraging people to get hearing tests. Globally, various actions are taken. From open house events with acoustic listening, talks in public health departments, universities, and schools, expert panels, and noise level measurements and readings.
