With the aim of betting on greater energy efficiency, the Police of Corrientes incorporated 50 hybrid cars.
At an event held on Monday, June 2nd, on the Costanera Sur of the capital, Governor Gustavo Valdés led the delivery of the vehicles.
This incorporation is part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize the force, improve operational efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact of the automotive fleet.
Security and environmental care: what are the hybrid cars of the Corrientes Police like
During the ceremony, the governor emphasized the importance of having vehicles that allow for a quick and effective response to the community’s demands.
“We need immediacy, when the community calls, the Police must arrive at the moment,” Valdés emphasized.
He also highlighted the million-dollar investment aimed at strengthening public security. He also announced that modern motorcycles will soon be delivered to further reinforce police presence on the streets.
The 50 cars delivered are cutting-edge hybrid models, combining an internal combustion engine with an electric one. This technology allows for a significant reduction in fuel consumption and emissions of polluting gases, thus contributing to environmental sustainability.
The vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to optimize communication and coordination of officials in the field.
Distribution and territorial reach
The new vehicles will be allocated to both the provincial capital and the interior of the province, with the aim of strengthening police presence in urban and rural areas.
This strategic distribution seeks to ensure efficient and equitable coverage throughout the local territory.
The provincial government indicated that it will continue with the process of “modernizing the police fleet,” with plans to acquire more hybrid vehicles in the near future.
This initiative is part of a long-term commitment to improve public security, promote sustainability, and optimize resource use in the province of Corrientes.
What is sustainable mobility?
This measure is also part of promoting more sustainable mobility. It is a concept that refers to ways of reducing the negative effects—in environmental and social terms—of urban mobility.
It is related to practices that allow for reducing the number of circulating vehicles, in order to mitigate some of their effects, such as traffic and greenhouse gases.
Thus, sustainable mobility encourages practices such as walking, cycling, public transport, and strategies like carpooling.
Furthermore, it promotes the development of technologies by companies to expand options for moving sustainably (such as the creation of hybrid or electric cars) and public policies that discourage the use of private cars.
