They are units of the Yuan Pro. The announcement by the mayor Gastón Granados and the Grupo Jack.

The mayor of the municipality of Ezeiza, Gastón Granados, and the company Grupo Jack (owned by brothers Javier and Horacio Jack) announced an agreement to provide that city in the Buenos Aires suburbs with a fleet of electric patrol cars: they will all be Chinese models BYD Yuan Pro, which the company markets through the dealership BYD Jack.

The first images of one of these municipal patrol cars were released this morning by Granados and Grupo Jack. The Yuan Pro is a Segment B SUV (small), powered by 45 kWh batteries, offering a performance of 174 hp of power and 290 Nm of torque.

It declares a range of 380 kilometers. At dealerships, the Yuan Pro has list prices between 29,990 dollars (GL version) and 30,990 dollars (GS version).

Sustainable mobility with electric patrol cars

From an environmental perspective, the incorporation of electric patrol cars means a contribution to the environment in air quality and in the non-emission of polluting gases, significantly reducing the carbon footprint with the use of these vehicles.

According to Noticias Ambientales, the agreement between BYD Jack and the Municipality of Ezeiza, this purchase would allow “saving operational and maintenance costs of the patrol fleet by up to 50%”.

With the exception of some municipalities that in the past purchased small city cars like the Sero Electric and Coradir Tito for patrolling public promenades, there are no other precedents in Argentina for the purchase of electric police vehicles.

The BYD Yuan Pro was positioned in January, for the first time, as the best-selling electric car in Argentina. The range in our market will expand in February with the launch of its “hybrid brother,” the BYD Atto 2 DM-i.
