During this lunar phase, the full moon was positioned opposite the Sun. In the recent summer solstice, when the Sun reached its zenith, the Strawberry Moon took the opposite path, appearing near the horizon.
In Manhattan, the full moon emerged alongside the iconic Empire State Building, a scene captured by photographer Gary Hershorn. This standout image shows how the natural satellite perfectly integrates with the urban landscape of New York.
From another angle, the Statue of Liberty seemed to hold the Strawberry Moon over the Hudson River, in an equally striking photographic composition. This image highlights the unique interaction between nature and human creations.
The beauty of the phenomenon was not limited to the United States. In California, photographer Tayfun Coskun depicted how the moon peeked over the San Francisco Bay, while in Meishan, China, the Strawberry Moon rose among the clouds, providing a spectacular view.
In Hungary, Robert Nemeti captured a melancholic image of the moon over a church in Abaújvár, a strategic point near the Slovakian border.

The next full moon, known as the Buck Moon, will occur on July 29. This name comes from Native American cultures, marking the time when male deer grow new antlers.
