Voltari, a world leader in the manufacturing of marine electric vehicles, has introduced the Patrol 26 RIB, the world’s first 100% electric patrol boat.

This model redefines the standards of sustainability, performance, and versatility in governmental, military, and security applications.

The Future of Electric Patrol Boats

Main Features

Power and innovative design:

  • Maximum power of 740 HP (550 kW) and a
  • continuous power of 425 kW, providing a maximum speed of over 88 km/h (55 mph) and a cruising speed between 32 and 48 km/h (20-30 mph).
  • Range of up to 160 km (100 miles) at low speeds or 48 km (30 miles) at a cruising speed of 40 km/h (25 mph).
  • Carbon fiber construction and a deep V hull design with a 24-degree angle, optimized for oceanic conditions and rough waters.

Advantages of the electric powertrain:

  • Direct drive without a traditional gearbox, eliminating vibrations, noises, and delays when shifting between forward and reverse.
  • Counter-rotating dual propeller propulsion system, military specification, providing greater acceleration and maneuverability.
  • Significant reduction in maintenance costs, with estimated savings of up to 1 million dollars (USD) per vessel over a 10-year period.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Enhanced safety and visibility:

  • FLIR thermal night vision camera mounted on the roof for operation in low-light conditions.
  • LED lighting in all directions, controllable from the command post.
  • Dry storage space near the helm for essential equipment, such as marine flares, and options for lethal and non-lethal armament.

Integrated communication system:

  • Garmin or Raymarine VHF marine radios integrated with GPS, radar, and FLIR cameras to ensure secure communications and precise navigation.

Crew comfort:

  • Suspension seats to reduce injuries and fatigue on prolonged missions.
  • Design options, such as the Patrol 26 Pilot model, with a heated cabin for up to four passengers.

Applications and Uses

The Patrol 26 RIB is designed for various applications, including:

  • Security patrols for police forces, coast guards, and military.
  • Rescue missions in adverse weather conditions.
  • Commercial and institutional operations in coastal areas.

Additionally, the Patrol 26 RIB is being tested with the United States Navy in San Diego and with the Canadian Coast Guard, demonstrating its operational viability and superior performance compared to internal combustion vessels.

Environmental and Economic Benefits

The shift to electric propulsion not only reduces carbon emissions, but also decreases noise, improving the marine environment and operational experience. By eliminating the use of fossil fuels and complex mechanical systems, operational and maintenance costs are reduced.

Future of Marine Sustainability

With the Patrol 26 RIB, Voltari sets a milestone in the transition towards sustainability in maritime operations. This model not only surpasses the capabilities of traditional vessels but also sets a standard in innovation and environmental responsibility.
