Luis Schmidt, president of the **Cooperative of Electricity and Public Services of Sierra de la Ventana** (COOPERSIVE), highlighted the importance of the 72 million credit granted by the Government of the province of **Buenos Aires** through the **Fideicomiso Fuerza Solidaria**.
This financial support is aimed at **strengthening the solidarity economy** through **improving infrastructure**, acquiring machinery, and key projects, benefiting cooperatives in Tornquist, Pilar, San Antonio de Areco, and Almirante Brown.

COOPERSIVE will allocate the funds to purchase a 40 KVA generator to ensure the continuous operation of the **internet system** in case of power outages. Currently, **COOPERSIVE** provides services of electricity, internet, cable television, and funeral services to 3,400 users.

In addition to the generator, COOPERSIVE is finalizing a **project of electric looping** to minimize power outages. However, they face challenges due to the dependency on a single energy provider (EDES) and are promoting a **comprehensive project** to build a 132 KVA line with a substation.
The Cooperativa Cartoneros Unidos, known as **“Recicla Brown”**, will use the credit to complete its waste treatment plant. This includes the construction of a **Green Center** with changing rooms, bathrooms, and a community dining room, as well as the installation of machinery to optimize recycling. The credit will overcome limitations and improve the quality of life of its 200 **urban recyclers**.

The plant will be able to process up to 100 tons of waste daily, benefiting the workers, the **environment**, and the community. Recicla Brown also plans to create a care space for the recyclers’ children and to **add value to recyclable materials**.
Both in Sierra de la Ventana and in Almirante Brown, cooperatives face challenges due to the austerity policies of the national Government and the lack of investment in infrastructure. From Almirante Brown, they emphasize the importance of **considering recycling as a state policy** to mitigate the consequences of **mismanagement of waste**.
The 72 million pesos distributed by the province of Buenos Aires represent an opportunity for cooperatives to enhance their activities and face current challenges, benefiting their communities and contributing to **sustainable development**.
