They regulate the sport hunting of invasive exotic species in Corrientes

The **Corrientes Natural Resources Department** established [new provisions](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/) for the sport hunting of wild boar (Sus scrofa) and axis deer (Axis axis), both species considered invasive and harmful to the ecosystem and agricultural production.

Directive No. 248 responds to the need to update the criteria for hunting permits, addressing the demands of sports hunters and the concerns of rural producers affected by the [proliferation of these species](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/).

The new regulations aim to [facilitate the population control](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/) of these animals, allowing hunters to [increase the number of specimens hunted](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/). Hunting will be allowed from [Monday to Sunday](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), excluding protected areas, parks, and reserves. Regarding restrictions, the [quota for axis deer is eliminated](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), meaning that hunters will be able to hunt [without limits on quantity or sex distinctions](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/). For wild boar, the regulations maintain the elimination of any type of restriction on its hunting.

Furthermore, the movement of hunted axis deer within the province is authorized [without the need for seals](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), although seals will be mandatory for [interjurisdictional transfers](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/). For wild boar, the exemption from seals is maintained both within and outside the province.

**Economic Impact and Hunting Tourism**

The **Corrientes Natural Resources Department** highlighted that while the proliferation of these species causes [serious damage to producers](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), sports hunting also represents an [important source of income](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/) for many communities in the interior.

In this sense, the activity has allowed various producers to diversify their income sources through hunting tourism, an alternative that has gained importance amid adversities such as [droughts, fires, and floods](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/). Additionally, the arrival of hunters and tourists has a [positive impact on the local economy](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), benefiting [tour operators, businesses, and the province in general](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/).

**Requirements and Penalties**

To participate in sports hunting, interested parties must have:

– A valid hunting license.
– Permission from the landowner, issued by the Natural Resources Department.
– Authorization to enter the establishment for all members of the hunting party.

The regulations establish that any species not authorized for hunting is considered protected. In case of illegal hunting, the [confiscation of the hunt](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), [seizure of weapons](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/), and [application of sanctions](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/caza-en-la-pampa-mas-de-1-200-extranjeros-llegaron-en-2024/) according to the law will be carried out.

Finally, it is clarified that the **Corrientes Natural Resources Department** will be the only authorized body for issuing permits, both for landowners with commercial purposes and those without profit motives.
