Raid in San Juan: Native endangered birds confiscated

Staff from the **Office of Property Crimes** carried out a **raid** in the **San Francisco** neighborhood in Chimbas (San Juan), where **17 endangered native birds** were seized.

The species found included:
– Zorzal mandioca.
– Benteveo.
– Reyna mora.

– Calandria.
– Zorzal negro and zorzal gato.

The **accused, Juan Quiroga**, was linked to an **administrative proceeding** for **violation of Law 941-R**, remaining under the jurisdiction of the **Third Misdemeanor Court**.

According to police sources, the estimated value of the birds in the illegal market could reach **$1,300,000**.

During the raid, **57 cages and traps** were **seized**, indicating a **regular activity of capturing and selling native specimens**.
