In the framework of the World Dog Day, celebrated every July 27th, Mitsubishi Motors of Mexico and animal rescuer Zadrigman (@Zadrigman) announced the second edition of “Operation Little Paws 2026”, a solidarity initiative aimed at collecting food for dogs in vulnerable situations and supporting shelters that work daily to give them a second chance.
Following the success of the first edition, which gathered more than 7 tons of food, this year the goal is to surpass that figure thanks to the expansion of collection centers, now reinforced with the participation of eight Mitsubishi Motors Dealers.
Social and Ethical Context
Mexico ranks first in Latin America for overpopulation of street dogs, with more than 18 million neglected animals. This problem generates multiple impacts:
- Public health: dogs without medical attention spread parasites and infections.
- Environment: waste accumulation contaminates urban soil and water.
- Public safety: reduces the risks of bites and attacks by decreasing the street population.
From an ethical perspective, the street exposes animals to abuse, run-overs, and painful diseases without treatment. The campaign seeks to prevent premature deaths from hunger or cold, ensure basic life principles for sentient beings, and reduce critical saturation in local shelters.

Social Awareness and Education
“Operation Little Paws” also promotes values of respect and responsibility:
- Sterilization as an ethical method of population control.
- Responsible adoption instead of purchasing pets.
- Civic education to transform apathy into a culture of civic respect.

Delivery Logistics

For transportation, Mitsubishi will use several L200 GSR pickups, with a load capacity of 1 ton and towing capacity of 3.5 tons, in addition to their 4×4 driving modes and 4WD system that allow access to irregular terrains anywhere in the city.
The second edition of “Operation Little Paws” reaffirms the commitment of Mitsubishi Motors and Zadrigman to animal welfare and social awareness. Beyond the goal of surpassing 7 tons of food, the campaign seeks to generate a lasting impact on the culture of respect towards animals, promoting responsible adoption and community solidarity.
