The Municipality of Salta brought very important news to promote the **adoption of adult dogs**. Citizens who add a new family member over 10 years old will receive free veterinary care for life.
It is for the animals housed at the “**Matías Nicolás Mansilla**” Center. Generally, older dogs are the ones that have the most difficulty finding a home, despite the promise of unconditional love.
## Salta’s initiative for the adoption of adult dogs
The goal is for the dogs currently under the care of the municipality to find a home and live in **healthy conditions**, vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Besides sharing their home with a family.

We hope that neighbors can give an old dog the opportunity to spend its golden years with them.”
The official also detailed that those animals waiting to be adopted are “loyal and grateful companions.”
In that sense, he listed qualities that interested people should consider:
– Tranquility and patience: they are “calmer” dogs and require less supervision.
– Natural obedience: their life experience gives them a great willingness to follow instructions.

– Moderate physical activity needs: “perfect for households that prefer gentle walks” and **less intense exercise**.

– Utility bill
