Energy transition in Buenos Aires: a new solar park will incorporate more than 6,000 panels to supply 2,000 households.

The **province of Buenos Aires** took a firm step [towards decarbonizing its energy matrix](https://noticiasambientales.com/energia/chaco-apuesta-por-las-energias-renovables-con-el-primer-bosque-quantic-un-salto-historico-hacia-la-descarbonizacion/) with the start of construction works to build a **solar park** at the **”Oscar Schmidt” power plant**, located at kilometer 412 of **Provincial Route 11**.

The project, developed by **Buenos Aires Energía S.A. (BAESA)**, includes the installation of **6,160 solar panels**, with a capacity of **4.6 MW** and an estimated annual production of **7,500 MWh**, enough to supply more than **2,000 households** in the region.

## Clean Energy for the North Atlantic Coast
[Reduction of emissions](https://noticiasambientales.com/energia/autos-solares-y-electricos-la-innovacion-que-acelera-el-camino-hacia-un-futuro-sostenible-sin-emisiones/), diversification of the matrix, and reinforcement of regional supply.

Among the highlighted benefits are:
– Diversification of energy sources
– Reduction of generation costs
– Reinforcement of electricity supply in tourist areas
– Reduction of 4,000 tons of CO₂ annually

The energy generated by the new solar park will be **injected into the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI)**, under an agreement between **BAESA, Banco Provincia, and Aguas Bonaerenses S.A. (ABSA)**, aligned with the **National Renewable Energy Regime**, which requires covering at least **20% of the electrical demand** with clean sources.

## Buenos Aires Energy Portal: Open Data for Efficient Management
A public platform that centralizes statistics and promotes **sustainable development**.

As part of its comprehensive strategy, the provincial government launched the [**Buenos Aires Energy Portal (PEBA)**](https://www.minfra.gba.gob.ar/peba/), a tool developed by the **Provincial Directorate of Energy and Tariff Policy**, which allows:
– Access to updated statistics
– Visualization of dynamic maps and interactive dashboards
– Promoting applied studies and research
– Supporting public and private decision-making

“The Portal allows building sustainable development for all residents of Buenos Aires,” said Minister **Gabriel Katopodis**.

## Transparency, Planning, and Citizen Participation
The Energy Undersecretary, **Gastón Ghioni**, emphasized that PEBA is more than a database: it is a **condition of possibility to outline a provincial energy strategy**.

In a context of multiple sources of information—such as **CAMMESA, ENARGAS, OCEBA, and PROINGED**—the portal seeks to **integrate and simplify access**, ensuring **transparency and citizen participation**.

## Strategic Works for a More Connected and Sustainable Province
Gas, electricity, and renewables as axes of territorial development.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services promotes projects to:
– Expand the electric distribution network
– Improve access to natural gas
– Develop renewable energies
– Promote energy efficiency

These actions consolidate energy as a **central vector of provincial development**, integrating **territory, technology, and equity**.
