Genneia, the number one renewable energy company in Argentina, launched the Anchoris solar park this week in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza.
The inauguration was celebrated after an investment of u$s 160 million which allowed Genneia to add its second solar park in the province.
The project has an installed capacity of 180 MW and will supply large industrial users under the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER) regime.
This is already operational with 360,000 bifacial solar modules of the latest generation, which generate about 497,000 MWh annually.
In total, this amount of renewable energy is equivalent to the consumption of approximately 125,000 households.

Reduction of emissions and local employment, the contribution of Genneia’s new solar park
The Anchoris solar park developed by Genneia will avoid more than 220,000 tons of CO₂ per year. This is a significant contribution to the reduction of the carbon footprint of the Argentine electrical system.
During construction, the project generated employment for more than 350 workers at its peak activity. In this regard, Genneia’s CEO, Bernardo Andrews, highlighted the commitment to local employment.
“At the peak of the work, we had 350 people, which involved efforts with contractors and local employment,” he revealed.
The company’s president, Jorge Brito, also emphasized the requirement to hire workers from the province and the municipality. “We require that the people be mostly from the province,” he detailed.
Mendoza, a reference in solar energy
With Anchoris in operation, the new solar park of Genneia exceeds 630 MW installed in Cuyo. Thus, the company already has the following developments in the region:
- Ullum and Sierras de Ullum
- Tocota III
- Malargüe I
- Anchoris
- San Rafael (first stage)

The regional capacity of Genneia’s new solar park will reach 800 MW in 2026 with the commissioning of San Juan Sur, of 130 MW. In addition, at least three new large-scale projects are expected from 2027.
At the inauguration of the Anchoris solar park, Governor Alfredo Cornejo celebrated the progress: “With more energy, other projects can be developed in Mendoza.” He also highlighted that the province will exceed 700 MW installed this year, a goal that was planned for 2027.
The Minister of Energy and Environment, Jimena Latorre, highlighted that Mendoza reached that number in four years, compared to the 15 it took San Juan. She also projected an energy matrix with 40% renewables by combining solar and hydroelectric.
Nationally, Genneia’s new solar park reinforces the company’s leadership in the sector, which plans to exceed 1.7 GW of renewable capacity installed by 2026.
This is supported by investments totaling nearly u$s2.000 million since 2017 in the sector.
Thanks to this, today the company represents 21% of wind energy generation and 19% of solar in all of Argentina.
