The EDUCÁ Environmental Education Program, promoted by the Municipality of San Miguel de Tucumán, actively participated in an event held at Parque El Provincial, within the framework of the Special Education Month.
The event, organized by the Tucumán Ministry of Education, brought together 60 schools from across the province, with the aim of promoting inclusion and environmental care.
Eco Exchange and Sustainable Actions
Recycling, composting, and plants to promote responsible habits.
During the event, the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development of the capital municipality presented the environmental initiatives it carries out and organized an Eco Exchange.
Attendees were able to exchange recyclable materials for:
- Native plants
- Composted soil
- Sustainable items
This proposal aims to encourage ecological practices and bring environmental education to all educational levels.
Inclusive Environmental Education
Special schools and Day Centers as agents of change.
The Environment Secretary, Julieta Migliavacca, highlighted the sustained work with special education schools and Day Centers, mentioning specific experiences:
- Periodic visits by students from INPEA and Lagarrigue school to the municipal orchard
- Creation of a sensory mural with the Braille school
- Implementation of inclusive school gardens
“Inclusion and the right to environmental education are fundamental,” expressed Migliavacca, thanking the Ministry for the intersectoral coordination that allows these processes to reach a successful conclusion.

Visualizing what happens within institutions
Breaking stereotypes and showing the daily work of special education.
The Special Education Supervisor of Zone 1 (Capital), Graciela García, emphasized that these events allow showing the real work carried out in the institutions.
“Social perception of special education is limited, and these activities help visualize the commitment and capacity of teaching teams and students,” she stated.
A day that unites environment, inclusion, and community
The event was an example of how environmental education can be inclusive, participatory, and transformative. The presence of EDUCÁ reaffirms the Municipality’s commitment to a fair, conscious, and sustainable city, where all individuals —regardless of their abilities— can learn, participate, and care for the planet.
The “Parque El Provincial” in Tucumán, where the activity took place, is an inclusive and gastronomic park located in San Miguel de Tucumán. It is situated in the old train station. It is a new cultural and gastronomic hub and a center of activities.
