In a recent ecological surveillance operation, members of the Jungle Operations Group of the Park Rangers Corps, under the Ministry of Ecology and Renewable Resources of Misiones, managed to intercept poachers inside the Urugua-í Provincial Park.
This action is part of the protection and conservation strategies of this natural reserve, a crucial area for the biodiversity of the region.
Detection of Suspicious Activity in the Jungle
While conducting a routine patrol on the southern boundary of the park, the forest guardians noticed an unusual trail that penetrated the dense vegetation.
Following the trail, they encountered two armed individuals, who were inside the park without authorization and carrying high-caliber shotguns.
Both were preemptively detained for identification and subsequent intervention by the competent authorities.
Control Measures Against Poachers
The Urugua-í Provincial Park is one of the most important protected areas in Misiones, home to various endangered species and unique ecosystems.
Poachers pose a serious threat to wildlife, affecting the ecological balance and endangering the reproduction of key species.
Monitoring and surveillance operations aim to prevent these illegal activities and ensure the preservation of the Misiones jungle.
Commitment to Biodiversity
The work of the park rangers is essential for nature protection and the enforcement of environmental regulations.
This operation reinforces the need to intensify controls in protected areas, raise awareness about respect for wildlife, and strengthen legal actions against illegal hunting.
Authorities urge the population to report suspicious activities and contribute to the defense of the natural richness of Misiones.
