The operation involved the intervention of the **Provincial Inspection Directorate**, in compliance with the **Entre Ríos Fishing Law** and complementary resolutions that **expressly prohibit night fishing**, a practice that threatens the sustainability of fishery resources in the region.

The seizure occurs in a context of **high demand for fish during Easter Week**, a time when both consumption and attempts at illegal fishing increase. The Argentine Naval Prefecture emphasized the importance of respecting current regulations to protect aquatic ecosystems and ensure long-term food security.

## Entre Ríos prohibits commercial fishing of dorado

The law places Entre Ríos at the **same level as other provinces regarding the protection of dorado**, safeguarding **[artisanal fishing](https://noticiasambientales.com/medio-ambiente/entre-rios-prohibe-la-pesca-comercial-del-dorado/)** involving riverside residents.

Mauro Godein, president of the Culture and Tourism Committee of the Provincial Lower House, highlighted that **dorado is a species threatened by depredation and in decline**, and that the project aims to align Entre Ríos with neighboring provinces in the Plata Basin.

The main objective of the law is the **conservation of dorado in all its species**, considering its ecological and economic importance in the face of the threat of indiscriminate fishing and habitat degradation.
