Technology as an ally of strategic development: the outcome of #WillBeSustainable 4.6

With more than 300 attendees and prominent figures from various sectors, the fourth edition of #SeráSustentable once again placed the key link between innovation, technology, and sustainable development at the center of the agenda.

The event, driven by the GEO Sustainable Development Center, was held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. Year after year, this space brings together leaders from the public, private, academic, and civil society sectors to discuss new opportunities related to the future of sustainability.

Transformation with real impact

Under the premise “Technology as a strategic ally”, this edition invited reflection on how artificial intelligence, data analysis, digital platforms, and new technological solutions are transforming production, resource management, and model design with economic, social, and environmental impact. The event consolidated a rapidly expanding community, adding 18 speakers and a network of 30 allied organizations.

Voices driving change

Throughout the day, specialists such as Christian Asinelli, Paola Nimo, Nicolás Marín, Alan Daitch, Ariel Sujarchuk, and Leonardo Boto addressed the technological role in the transition to a new economy. The panels covered milestones such as the development of satellites —which positions Argentina at the forefront of the space industry— to the impact of environmental public policies.

The debate made it clear that building a sustainable future is a shared responsibility and that technology, used with purpose, is a tool with enormous potential to accelerate development.

A community in expansion

Beyond the conferences, #SeráSustentable 4.6 demonstrated that in a context of constant transformations, network building and the exchange of experiences are fundamental. Public-private articulation and multisectoral alliances emerge as the main engine for designing solutions with long-term impact.

“Many times we talk about technology as a problem or a threat, but in reality, its impact depends on how we decide to use it. Today we have the opportunity to turn it into a tool to generate concrete solutions, promote more sustainable development models, and build alliances that accelerate real transformations,” concluded Marcelo Corti, Executive Director of the GEO Sustainable Development Center.
