Weather forecast for the 2026 World Cup final: Cloudy skies and temperatures from 10°C to 15°C in Buenos Aires

With the end of the 2026 World Cup between Argentina and Spain just around the corner, many football fans are eager to know what the weather will be like this Sunday. After several days of instability, a significant improvement in weather conditions is expected in Buenos Aires City and the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA).

Weather Conditions for the 2026 World Cup Final

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has forecasted that Sunday will have cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, but no rain, which will be a relief after the storms on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will drop, creating a typically wintery environment for those planning to watch the match.

Before Sunday, the weather will be marked by heavy rains and storms, with possible wind gusts and hail due to the entry of warm and humid air into the region. However, by Sunday, conditions are expected to stabilize when a mass of cooler air enters from the south.

People planning to gather to enjoy the match should prepare coats, especially considering the expected temperatures of 10°C to 15°C, in line with the winter season.

Saturday will be a transition day, with instability during the morning and afternoon, but with lower chances of precipitation. Temperatures will range between 14°C and 18°C, with mostly cloudy skies.

The entry of southeast winds on Sunday, with speeds between 13 and 22 km/h, will contribute to cooler and drier conditions, ideal for activities related to the World Cup final.

The SMN also reports that Friday will be the most challenging day, with heavy rain and hail in Buenos Aires and its surroundings. Gusts could reach between 42 and 50 km/h, especially in the morning.

Therefore, the focus for football fans will be the favorable weather on Sunday, with lower temperatures and cloudy skies, but without the precipitation that affected previous days. This improvement in weather will be ideal for celebrating the final without interruptions.
