The National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecasts a wintery and unstable Tuesday, July 21st, in the City of Buenos Aires and the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA). The day will start with morning drizzles, followed by a gradual improvement in weather conditions.
Forecast for Buenos Aires: Morning drizzles, improvement in the afternoon
The early hours of the day will feature scattered drizzles, with a rain probability between 10% and 30%, and temperatures starting from a minimum of 10°C. By midday, a decrease in cloudiness and cessation of precipitation is anticipated, reaching a maximum temperature of 14°C, creating a cold but stable environment.
The winds will mainly blow from the southwest and southeast, with speeds between 13 and 30 km/h, which could cause moderate gusts. This wind could keep the wind chill below actual temperatures, with a relative humidity of approximately 95% in the early hours, decreasing as visibility improves.
In Greater Buenos Aires (GBA), the thermal drop will be more pronounced in the western and southern suburban areas, with minimums of 8°C to 9°C in suburban areas. The northern belt areas will show a thermal behavior similar to the capital.
The Early Warning System (SAT) of the SMN continues to monitor the coastal strip of the province of Buenos Aires due to moderate southwest gusts and maritime instability conditions. In contrast, the provinces of Mendoza, Neuquén, and Río Negro expect snowfalls of varying intensity due to the arrival of cold air in the mountainous region.
In other areas of the country, atmospheric stability without precipitation is expected in provinces such as Córdoba, Santa Fe, and Entre Ríos, thanks to the influence of a high-pressure system.
Looking towards the rest of the week, the extended forecast indicates no expected rain in the AMBA, allowing for a gradual improvement in weather conditions. Winds are expected to shift northward, facilitating a slow but steady increase in temperatures, reaching around 20°C towards the weekend.
Despite the cold in the mornings, the progressive entry of warmer air will ensure pleasant afternoons by the end of the week in the metropolitan area.
