The educational community of Technical School 4-171 Hilda Mabel Coria, located in the Carmensa district, General Alvear (Mendoza), installed wildlife rescue ramps in the institution’s water reservoir.

This biodiversity protection project had the active participation of students, who learned about the importance of these structures and worked directly on their development and implementation.

Positive Impact of Rescue Ramps

These ramps, implemented in various points in Mendoza, are designed to allow animals trapped in bodies of water to easily escape, preventing drowning.

Initiatives like this have a positive impact on biodiversity and contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and good condition of reservoirs without altering aquatic ecosystems.

Environmental Awareness and Education

The Director of Biodiversity and Eco-park, Ignacio Haudet, emphasized: “This activity was not only a learning exercise for the students, but also an opportunity to raise awareness about sustainable practices and respect for the environment.”

The collaboration between teachers, staff from the General Alvear Delegation, the Department of Wildlife, the SOS Acción Salvaje Foundation, and CECARA was key to carrying out this action.

Success and Future of Protection Measures

Adrián Gorrindo, head of the Wildlife Department of the Government of Mendoza, highlighted the success of the activity and the importance of continuing to implement measures such as rescue ramps.

“Ramps are a fundamental tool to protect our wildlife, especially in rural areas. With these initiatives, we prevent the death of animals and promote a more harmonious coexistence with nature,” Gorrindo stated.

Provincial Program for Wildlife Protection

The installation of ramps is part of a program that the Government of Mendoza is carrying out to expand the installation of rescue ramps in different parts of the province. This program, which has already been very successful, aims to protect wildlife and improve environmental conditions in communities.
