Two seemingly opposite worlds, like the landfills and fashion, came together in Jessica Pullo’s childhood, giving rise to BIOTICO, a sustainable brand of handbags made with recycled materials.

Critical Perspective on Fashion

Jessica Pullo, a designer graduated from UBA, grew up in La Salada, where textile waste ended up on the banks of the Riachuelo River and was burned. This experience gave her a personal and critical perspective on the fashion industry and its environmental and social impact.

Creation of BIOTICO

In 2014, Pullo founded BIOTICO as a thesis project in the Moragues chair of FADU. Over time, the brand evolved into a unique proposal of sustainable art couture with a strong focus on social inclusion.

Pullo worked with various organizations to offer workshops and collaborate with a civil association for skills development in people with intellectual disabilities.

Social Impact and Eco-Friendly Products

These workshops have had a profound social impact, improving motor skills and attention in the participants.

BIOTICO uses recycled materials such as snack packages and milk sachets, collected through a collaborative chain in the AMBA, creating a sustainable and community circuit.

BIOTICO combines sustainability and social commitment

Message of Coexistence and Environmental Awareness

BIOTICO seeks to promote full coexistence with people with intellectual disabilities and create awareness of the value of plastics and other durable materials.

Through its products, the brand aims for people to reconsider the value of waste and the impact of their consumption decisions.

Growth and Future

Despite the challenges, BIOTICO continues to grow with the goal of exporting its products and expanding into important sales points.

The brand demonstrates that sustainable and triple-impact haute couture is possible in Argentina and around the world.
