The tree planting is progressing in Lomas de Zamora, as part of a comprehensive forestation plan aimed at improving air quality and enhancing the urban aesthetics in various localities of the district.
In an effort to mitigate the effects of climate change and enhance the local landscape, the Municipality of Lomas de Zamora has completed the tree planting in Lomas de Zamora surpassing the figure of 3,000 specimens distributed in strategic points.
This initiative, driven by the Department of Environment, focuses on the recovery of urban ecosystems and the promotion of biodiversity in neighborhoods.
The territorial deployment of this program included interventions in squares, parks, public institutions, boulevards, and sidewalks of different neighborhoods.
The selection of species was not random; priority was given to native specimens and ornamental ones of great biological value, including jacarandas, lapachos, ceibos, and willows.
These trees not only serve an aesthetic function but are essential for thermal regulation and the absorption of carbon dioxide.
Local management indicated that these actions are part of a sustained environmental policy aimed at transforming the everyday environment of residents.

It is integrated into the “Eco Lomas” program, a strategy that combines green infrastructure with citizen participation to ensure the preservation of the new species and guarantee their long-term growth.
In addition to the direct ecological benefits, such as the generation of shade and the reduction of noise pollution, the incorporation of these 3,000 specimens aims at organizing public tree planting to prevent future problems on sidewalks and urban services.
With this progress, the district reinforces its commitment to sustainability and the improvement of the general well-being of its inhabitants through the expansion of its forested areas.
