The Agricultural and Electromechanical Teaching Institute No. 3 (IEA No. 3) signed a collaboration agreement with the Municipality of San Vicente (Misiones) to carry out sustainable production and applied learning projects, with a direct impact on both the technical training of students and on the local production of healthy foods.
The agreement includes the installation of productive modules — such as a greenhouse and a shade house— on the institute’s premises, where students will be able to participate in the entire cultivation process of native species and horticultural crops.
“We have been working with this school and other educational institutions in the area. The signing of the agreement provides a legal framework and greater institutional commitment,” highlighted Ing. Jorge Eduardo Cossio, Secretary of Industry, Agriculture, and Municipal Production.
Equitable distribution of sustainable production
The production use scheme establishes that:
- 40 % of the produced goods will be allocated for internal consumption at the institute and local sales.
- The remaining 60 % will be managed by the municipality to be delivered to small producers through the Program for the Promotion of Agroindustrial Development, which finances local and productive ventures.
“With this contribution, we will have horticultural seedlings available to strengthen the projects of local producers and entrepreneurs,” explained Cossio.
Integration with the Horticultural Technology Center and technical support from the municipality
In addition to signing the agreement, the Municipality commits to:
- Provide inputs and technical assistance for the implementation of the modules.
- Link IEA No. 3 with the Horticultural Technology Center of San Vicente, to support with technology transfer and logistical support.
- Provide materials for the construction of greenhouses, supporting the development of productive school infrastructure.

The initiative articulates technical training, productive innovation, and territorial development, reaffirming the potential of agro-industrial education as a tool for inclusion, circular economy, and strengthening rural networks.
