Ten monuments in the City of Buenos Aires welcomed spring adorned with flowers.

This year, the city dresses up to embellish the monuments of Buenos Aires, as they woke up covered in flowers to welcome spring with many colors, surprising the neighbors with the original proposal.

The Government of the City of Buenos Aires, through the Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygiene, celebrated the arrival of spring with a particular initiative: a total of ten monuments in the capital woke up adorned with floral arrangements.

This proposal aims to transform the public space and, at the same time, highlight the artistic heritage that the City possesses.

Among the selected artistic pieces, true Buenos Aires icons can be found, such as Las Nereidas in Costanera Sur, El Pensador located in Plaza Mariano Moreno, the famous statue of Mafalda in the San Telmo neighborhood, La Aurora in Parque Centenario, and La Cigale in the Rosedal.

These, along with five other monuments located in different neighborhoods, extend an invitation to the neighbors to rediscover them framed in a colorful and seasonal context.

The City’s cultural heritage is composed of more than 2,400 sculptural pieces, including statues, busts, plaques, masts, fountains, and monoliths. Through this specific intervention, the administration seeks to enhance the value of these artworks and promote a closer approach of art to citizens on such a special date as the beginning of spring.
