The green key to the urban future found in modular construction: What is this innovative proposal about?

The City of Buenos Aires hosted a new edition of Expo Construir, the country’s most important event for the construction sector. For two days, developers, architects, and companies presented innovative solutions to current environmental and infrastructure challenges, as alternatives for the urban future.

Efficiency, reduction of environmental impact, and the need for speed in execution set the tone for the debates and exhibitions.

Modular construction positioned itself as one of the most solid responses to these challenges. Several companies presented sustainable proposals, adaptable to different contexts, which allow optimizing resources and times without neglecting quality. Among them, CIMC Wetrans stood out, showcasing technologies aimed at transforming the way habitable and productive spaces are conceived.

One of their most valued developments was the FLATPACK module, designed to maximize efficiency in transportation and assembly. Thanks to its dismantlable system, it allows transporting more units per trip, reducing emissions and costs. This makes it an ideal solution to respond to housing emergencies or to build in remote areas without access to traditional infrastructure.

The company also showcased its catalog of over 150 customizable container models, capable of being transformed into hospitals, offices, warehouses, or temporary housing. All under international quality standards and with an ecological focus.

Urban Technology with Ecological Awareness

In line with the global trend towards smart cities, CIMC Wetrans also presented an automated parking system that optimizes urban space. Based on IoT technology and autonomous operation, this proposal aims to reduce congestion, energy consumption, and unnecessary land use in densely urbanized areas.

Expo Construir 2025 made it clear that the construction of the future is not only fast and functional, but also conscious of the impact it generates. Solutions must be designed from a comprehensive perspective, considering both the environment and human needs.

CIMC Wetrans showed that modern infrastructure can be sustainable without losing efficiency. Their proposals provide concrete answers to new models of cities and projects that demand adaptability, clean technology, and long-term vision.

In this new paradigm, the construction industry is redefined: building also means caring.

Houses in 7 Days: the revolution of modular wood for the construction of sustainable homes

A new construction system with prefabricated wooden blocks promises to transform the way sustainable homes are built. Inspired by the logic of toy blocks, this method allows for the construction of a 200 square meter house in just seven days, without the need for cement or heavy machinery.

Developed in Belgium, the Gablok system offers a practical and sustainable solution, ideal for those looking to build with less environmental impact. Although the structure is assembled in a week, the complete process takes about four months, including design, delivery, and finishes.

Each kit contains blocks of different sizes, along with a 3D model to guide the construction. Thanks to its simplicity, it does not require advanced technical knowledge, making it easier to access a home without depending on large construction companies.
