Chaco National Park adds a private excursion: wildlife watching and nature in its purest form

The Chaco National Park, located in the heart of northern Argentina, adds a new private excursion that invites you to explore its natural wealth and enjoy experiences away from mass tourism.

With an area of 15,000 hectares, this protected space preserves typical environments of the Gran Chaco, one of the largest ecoregions in South America.

Ecosystems and Landscapes

Created in 1954 to preserve the red quebracho, the park combines forests, savannas, and wetlands marked by cycles of rain and drought. Its landscapes include:

  • Native forests of red and white quebracho, guayacanes, urundáis, carob trees, and chañares.
  • Wetlands and lagoons that support much of the local biodiversity.
  • Characteristic fauna such as capybaras, caimans, howler monkeys, anteaters, tapirs, pumas, and maned wolves.
  • Endemic birds such as muitús, herons, jays, chuñas, and rheas, among more than 300 registered species.

The New Private Excursion

The proposal starts from Resistencia, just over 100 km from the park, and offers a guided tour through the trails of the protected area. During the tour, you can appreciate the contrast between wet and transitional areas, with expert accompaniment that enriches the experience.

The itinerary includes:

  • Wildlife and native flora watching in their natural habitat.
  • Pause in designated picnic areas, where you can enjoy a lunch with local specialties.
  • Return to Resistencia after about 7-8 hours of excursion.

Access to the park is via National Route 16 and Provincial Route 9 to the town of Capitán Solari, where the entrance gate and administrative headquarters are located.
