AES Argentina will invest USD 150 million to expand a wind farm: Betting on renewable energy

The company **AES Argentina**, with over 30 years of presence in the country, has announced a significant investment in **renewable energy**.

The project will allocate **USD 150 million** to **double the installed capacity** of the **Vientos Bonaerenses Wind Farm**, consolidating the company’s commitment to the energy transition (link).

## Expansion of the park and job creation
The complex, located between **Bahía Blanca and Tornquist** in **Buenos Aires**, will increase its capacity with **16 new wind turbines**, which will allow:
– Increase production by 102.4 MW.
– Create approximately 400 direct jobs during the 18 months of construction.

This initiative will **drive local productive development** and **strengthen the national energy matrix**.

**AES Argentina’s President and CEO, Martín Genesio**, expressed his enthusiasm for the project in a statement: *”This expansion reflects our long-term vision and commitment to the country’s energy development. This investment is part of **AES Argentina’s** strategy to **accelerate the energy transition** (AES Argentina), promoting **innovative and sustainable solutions** for industrial and commercial clients.

The company is one of the **main investors** in the Argentine electrical sector, with an installed capacity exceeding **4 GW**.

Its diversified portfolio includes **hydroelectric, thermal, and wind energy**, with **10 generation plants** in the provinces of **Buenos Aires, Neuquén, Salta, and San Juan**:
– Cabra Corral.
– El Tunal.
– Termoandes.
– Ullum.
– Sarmiento.
– Alicura.
– Paraná.
– Central Térmica San Nicolás.
– Vientos Bonaerenses.
– Vientos Neuquinos.
