Winter advances in Argentina and the low temperatures are intensely affecting the mountainous and southern regions of the country. Provinces like Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego are under alert due to persistent snowfalls.

In Santa Cruz, on Tuesday morning, the temperatures dropped to -20 °C, a figure that remained similar the next day. Meanwhile, in southern Neuquén and Bariloche, Río Negro, significant snowfalls are anticipated.
This Wednesday, the forecast for the southwest of Chubut and the west of Santa Cruz indicates a red alert for extreme cold. Other areas like the rest of Santa Cruz are under an orange alert, while Chubut and Tierra del Fuego face a yellow alert.
The mountain range is witnessing a white blanket that exceeds in some places 1.5 meters of snow. In Trevelin, Chubut, the winter scene is omnipresent after the recent snowfalls.
Mendoza has received between three and four meters of snow in the mountains, with an ongoing alert for snowfalls in the south of the province and in Neuquén, where up to 50 additional centimeters are expected.
For Thursday, it is expected that the snowfalls in the mountain range of Mendoza and San Juan will exceed 1.5 meters. The storm has left several roads impassable, complicating transportation in these regions.
