The **Municipality** together with several **civil entities** carried out the first coastal cleaning day of the year in Paraná, Entre Ríos. The objective is to promote **environmental awareness** and care for natural resources.

The initiative took place at the **Municipal Beach** and had the collaboration of the Association **SUP Friends of the River** and other groups related to sports and recreation.

“We have carried out a new day of **awareness and** cleaning, aimed at preserving this important natural resource that is the Paraná River,” said the Undersecretary of Environment, **Maximiliano Pérez Viecenz**.

He also confirmed that two more similar days will be held in January. The first proposal of the year took place on Tuesday from the Municipal Beach.

First, an **informative and organizational talk** was given to the participants, and then the coast was cleaned. The participating associations were:
– **Friends of the River**: promoting SUP (Stand Up Paddle) and environmental care.
– **ECENNA**: with 30 years in nautical education and canoeing.
– **Rotaract**
– **Paraná Rowing Club**
– **Fishermen from Puerto Sánchez**

“Beyond cleaning up the **solid waste and plastics** found in the river, the idea is to raise awareness about resource care: especially the care of streams,” added the Director of Environmental Culture of the Municipality, **Dante Gariboglio**.

“Let’s not forget that all the waste that reaches the river comes from the streams,” he concluded.

In recent years, the call for cleaning days of natural spaces has increased. In Santa Fe, it is common for this to be done to raise awareness and contribute to the cleaning of the Paraná River.
