The cooperative **Creando Conciencia** announced the launch of a new line of camping tables [made from recycled material](https://noticiasambientales.com/innovacion/innovacion-en-cemento-reciclado-un-avance-hacia-la-construccion-sostenible/). They can be used for outdoor spaces or recreational activities.
The **production of the furniture** is carried out by the cooperative itself at the Benavidez Productive Hub. There, they also manufacture other products such as urban furniture and [recycled polystyrene school supplies](#).
In this way, Creando Conciencia completes the entire value chain in the manufacturing process. It is the same organization that carries out the **waste collection**, separation, baling, the acquisition of plastic wood, and finally the design, manufacturing, and sales.
With this goal in mind, Creando Conciencia set up a business unit specifically dedicated to the production of furniture with [recycled plastic wood](https://noticiasambientales.com/residuos/republica-dominicana-canjean-millones-de-botellas-para-fabricar-madera-sintetica/). This allowed the members to train in different trades, such as carpentry and welding.
Furthermore, it enables a significant improvement in working conditions, as they went from **collecting and separating waste** to producing furniture, enhancing their work and adding [greater profitability](#).
## The work of Creando Conciencia
Creando Conciencia is a **cooperative of urban recyclers** (formerly waste pickers), located in the Tigre district. It is dedicated to collecting, separating, classifying, and recycling waste, with two main objectives: environmental care and labor reintegration.
It was created in 2006, in response to some residents’ concerns about waste disposal and the precarious working conditions of waste pickers. Today, the cooperative **already has 51 members**, collection contracts in various neighborhoods of Benavidez and Tigre, and partnerships with different companies.
In addition, Creando provides training courses for waste separation at the source, which strongly supports the **work of recyclers**. Its members are all environmental promoters certified by the **Faculty of Agronomy at UBA**. Creando Conciencia is one of the few Sustainable Destinations in the Buenos Aires province, which means it can receive and guarantee the traceability of **recyclable waste**.
