In the province of Córdoba, a new organization seeks to change the way crimes against animals are addressed. The Animal and Environmental Justice Foundation emerges with the goal of strengthening the judicial treatment of abuse, integrating legal and digital tools.
Created on March 21 and formalized on April 14 through Resolution No. 085 C/26, the entity brings together criminal lawyers and law students. In this way, it aims to professionalize complaints and ensure that cases receive greater attention in the judicial system.
Additionally, its proposal introduces a key innovation: a web platform that allows complaints to be channeled quickly. Thus, it promotes greater citizen participation in the defense of animals and the environment.

Technology applied to animal and environmental protection in Córdoba
The main tool of the foundation is the site justicia-animal.org, developed to facilitate access to complaints. Through this platform, users can report abuse situations with photos, location, and without needing to identify themselves.
Consequently, this modality reduces barriers and encourages more people to get involved. Then, the organization analyzes each case and, if appropriate, promotes legal actions as a private complainant.
On the other hand, the system incorporates artificial intelligence to locate lost animals. Through image analysis, the application cross-references data and notifies matches when the probability exceeds 85%.
It also includes modules for responsible adoptions and a section aimed at reporting environmental violations. In this way, it consolidates as a comprehensive tool for the care of wildlife.
The case of the owls in Las Corzuelas and the initial impact of the initiative
A few days after its launch, the platform enabled an investigation into the alleged killing of vizcacha owls in the Las Corzuelas country club, in Unquillo. The case was initiated from an anonymous complaint received in the system.
Subsequently, the case was taken over by the District 4 Prosecutor’s Office, Turn 4, under the application of Law No. 14.346. At the same time, the Environmental Police confirmed the destruction of nests in the area.
This fact demonstrates how the combination of technology and legal action can generate quick responses. Additionally, it opens the door to economic sanctions and measures of environmental restoration.
At the same time, the foundation is already intervening in other cases, such as clandestine breeding facilities and situations of animal hoarding, expanding its reach in the province.

Benefits of an initiative that articulates justice, technology, and environmental awareness
The model promoted by the foundation offers multiple benefits for environmental protection. Firstly, it facilitates access to justice by allowing simple, fast, and secure complaints.
Secondly, it strengthens prevention, as the visibility of cases discourages abusive behaviors. It also helps generate data that allows for a better understanding of the problem at the territorial level.
On the other hand, it promotes environmental education by including informational tools on wildlife and responsible adoption. This fosters a more conscious relationship between society and animals.
Finally, the initiative drives a cultural change by integrating citizenship, technology, and the judicial system. In that sense, it consolidates as an innovative strategy that can be replicated in other regions.
Thus, Córdoba takes a significant step towards a more participatory environmental management, where the defense of biodiversity is built in a collective and sustained manner.
