Tragedy in Dallas: fire in pet store leaves 579 animals dead

According to Dallas Firefighters and Rescuers, the animals died from smoke inhalation as the fire did not directly reach them.

The only good news amidst the panic and the deaths of the defenseless animals is that there were no human casualties or injuries, although there was property damage as a part of the mall’s roof collapsed, causing severe structural damage.

The pet store was located at the back of the structure that caught fire.

“Although the fire did not reach the pet store, a large amount of smoke entered where the animals were,” firefighters reported.
