The Government of Tucumán reinforced its commitment to water management by delivering vehicles and technical equipment to the Directorate of Water Resources. The measure aims to optimize tasks of control, monitoring, and administration of a vital resource for the production and environmental quality of the province.
During the event held at the agency’s headquarters, enduro motorcycles, vans, and an equipped boat were incorporated for sampling in rivers and reservoirs. These resources will allow the inspection of irrigation districts, industrial oversight, and analysis of the state of surface waters, including basins shared with other provinces.
To this, state-of-the-art equipment was added, such as digital current meters to measure flow rates and multiparametric probes capable of recording critical parameters such as pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen. Essential tools to obtain precise environmental diagnostics in real-time.
The province is thus committed to more efficient management and strengthening its environmental institutions, in a context where responsible water use is key for agricultural production, industry, and conservation.

## Caring for Water: a Commitment to Production and the Environment
The Directorate of Water Resources and the Subsecretariat of Environment coordinate control and oversight tasks throughout the province. Their teams weekly visit strategic areas to collect samples and assess the impact of industrial activities on Tucumán’s rivers and streams.
Continuous monitoring of rivers such as Salí, Lules, Gastona, and Marapa allows the identification of pollution hotspots and the application of corrective measures before damages worsen. This task is carried out in collaboration with national and provincial agencies, under agreements in place for over a decade.
With the addition of a boat for monitoring reservoirs and watercourses, oversight tasks expand to the entire Salí-Dulce basin, extending to Mar Chiquita lagoon in Córdoba. A fundamental coverage to preserve the quality of the water resource and its future availability.

## Water Management, Key to Sustainable Development
Water is one of the most sensitive and essential natural resources. Proper management not only ensures supply for the population and agricultural and industrial production but also guarantees the health of ecosystems and biodiversity.
The contamination of rivers and aquifers directly affects the quality of drinking water and jeopardizes human health. Additionally, degraded water bodies hinder production and disrupt ecological balance, favoring the spread of diseases and the loss of natural habitats.
Strengthening technical areas and the use of specialized technology are fundamental strategies to anticipate risks, prevent pollution, and promote responsible consumption practices. In this path, Tucumán is moving towards an integrated water resource management model that seeks to balance development and sustainability.
Investing in the protection of water resources is investing in the future. Experience shows that each action of oversight, control, and environmental education contributes to conserving water as a source of life, production, and environmental balance. A policy that, beyond the present, aims to ensure a sustainable future for the entire region.
