Concern in Misiones over illegal extraction of native wood: the property already had two previous judicial summaries

There is concern in Misiones about a new illegal extraction of native wood in the heart of the Piñalito Sur Provincial Park.

The criminal act was discovered by Park Rangers from the province’s Ministry of Ecology after an operation that combined helicopter overflights and intensive ground patrols.

The property involved already has two previous summaries for similar acts, so a criminal complaint was filed.

The territorial control operation to detect the illegal extraction of native wood

The Park Ranger Corps made the discovery during their permanent surveillance and control tasks in protected natural areas.

The operation was deployed after detecting suspicious movements in the area that had been recorded for some time.

According to reports from the environmental department, helicopter overflights and intensive ground patrols were conducted.

This action allowed the identification of areas with evidence of wood cutting and illegal extraction of native wood.

Technical reports confirmed that it was a selective extraction of native species.

The discovery was key because this type of practice is difficult to detect through satellite images.

Unlike clear-cutting, this method does not create visible clearings from the air or in satellite images.

Therefore, the Park Ranger Corps of Misiones works constantly to preserve the natural resources and ensure compliance with environmental regulations throughout the province.

The property with a history of illegal extraction of native wood

The illegal extraction of native wood was carried out on a plot next to a private property adjacent to the provincial park.

This property, it was later learned, already has two active previous summaries for similar acts.

The existence of these precedents increases suspicions of a repeated practice of illegal exploitation.

The recurrence suggests that it is a systematic activity of illegal extraction, which is aggravated by being native wood.

Judicial complaint and legal actions

In light of this new finding, the Ministry of Ecology filed a formal complaint with the Environmental Protection Directorate of the Police of Misiones.

Additionally, the environmental department made the records available to the Justice to proceed with the corresponding investigation.

The objective is to determine responsibilities and apply the sanctions that correspond according to current regulations.

The judicial intervention seeks to stop these illegal practices that endanger the province’s natural heritage.

Misiones has one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems in the country, so its active protection is essential.

In this regard, it should be noted that the illegal extraction of native wood constitutes an environmental crime that threatens biodiversity and natural balance.

Furthermore, these practices endanger native species and compromise the integrity of protected areas.

In light of this new finding, the province’s Ministry of Ecology promised to intensify control and surveillance tasks to preserve natural resources.

The goal is to ensure compliance with environmental regulations in all protected areas of the province.
